The Standard Acrobat is about half as much and does most of what Pro does. You have to choke the price down your throat if you really need the Pro product. Overall Review: The product is great, but the price isn't. So this 2020 product will probably quit working by the end of 2025. When they quit supporting it, I think they must make it quit working soon thereafter too. I was happy with Acrobat Pro XI, until it quit running. Yes OCR is much better, and the PCs are more powerful and can handle a lot more pixels, but that's about the extent of the serious upgrades. They haven't improved the product that much in the last two decades.

I try to reduce the cost by buying only once a PC upgrade cycle, because I don't need an annual upgrade just the features. Going to a subscription model just makes it that much more expensive. I turned around and bought Acrobat Pro, because I don't mind not getting upgrades until I buy the new product it's less expensive (see below).Ĭons: My running gripe about Adobe Acrobat Standard and Pro is how much they charge for it. I test drove the next highest rated (another brand) product for creating PDFs, and it just couldn't do the job. Overall Review: If you want to edit PDF documents, Adobe Acrobat Pro is the best! Just keep in mind that if you've ever used the Adobe Creative Cloud (even if you've uninstalled it) you'll need tech support to get Acrobat Pro working for you.

The tech support person was then able to install Adobe Acrobat Pro successfully. A tech support person from Adobe had to do a remote session to edit the Windows registry and delete all folders and files that remained after uninstalling. I uninstalled all Creative Cloud applications, but no joy. Even PDFs that are password protected can be edited if I first print a copy of them as a PDF and then edit the copy.Ĭons: The only down side was I could not install it myself, since I had previously used the Creative Cloud. It allows me to add, remove and rotate pages of PDFs, too. I'm a teacher and I love the application! I use it to edit the text and replace the images of PDF documents for my students.
